Care info

Sun: Bromeliads prefer medium-to-bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight.

Water: Bromeliads absorb water through the air around them and are sensitive to being overwatered. Water your Bromeliad by:

• Water through the "vase", where the leaves meet in the center. Fill the vase every 1-2 weeks during summer and every 2-3 weeks during winter. Remove stagnant water after 4 days.
• Water the soil after the top 3 inches have dried, or
• Mist generously around the central vase and topsoil 1-3 times per week.
Tip: Rainwater or distilled water is best.

Air: Mimic a tropical environment with temperatures between 65º-85º and a high moisture content. You can provide a regular boost of humidity by:

• Adding a humidifier nearby
• Creating a pebble tray that lives underneath the pot
• Misting the leaves 2-4x per week with non-tap water
• Placement in a bathroom or kitchen, if lighting is suitable

What Health Benefits Does This Plant Provide?

Active exposure to and care for plants has many proven wellbeing benefits, such as:

• Lower stress levels

•Improved mood

• Superior mental clarity and focus

Houseplants are excellent air purifiers. They cleanse the air of indoor toxins, produce oxygen, and their humidifying capabilities will help you sleep + breathe better. Keep their leaves free of dust for optimal photosynthesis and oxygen production.

Plant Lifecycle

Bromeliad plants have a unique life cycle that "ends" shortly after their bloom dies. The flower ("bract") lives for up to 6 months. After the bloom dies, the main plant will begin to decay and sprouts "pups" in the soil.

The pups can be pruned away and planted in a moist medium of coco coir, moss, and/or orchid bark to start the life cycle over as a new plant.
