LEMON LIME PRAYER PLANT
LEMON LIME PRAYER PLANT(4-INCH)
The light requirements make this plant an attractive choice for lower-light homes. It is a great low-light plant and will do best in medium to low light. Direct sunlight will result in bleaching the leaves.
Water the Lemon Lime Maranta enough to keep it moist regularly, but not oversaturated.
Extended periods of dryness can result in leaves curling and brown leaf tips or edges. Do not allow the pot soil to dry out completely.
Non-toxic to pets.
A tropical plant native to Brazil, the Lemon Lime Prayer plant is a popular and attractive houseplant. Its scientific name is Maranta and the variety is ‘Erythroneura,’ which means veins in Latin. The yellow veins are in a herringbone pattern, giving rise to another of the plant’s names, – herringbone plant. The most interesting aspect of this plant is its ability to “pray.” This is called a nastic movement and is the plant’s response to light. During the day the leaves are flat, but at night they move upward as if praying to the heavens. This also allows the plant to conserve moisture at night.
This kind of active plant care can help you access the well-being benefit of the plants, such as lower stress levels, improved mood, and superior mental clarity. With their expansive leaves, Calatheas are excellent air-purifiers. We recommend marantas as a plant to keep in the bedroom: their peaceful leaves, oxygenating properties and humidifying capabilities will help you drift off at night and feel refreshed in the morning.
Chosen for its symbolism of gratitude, the Lemon Lime Prayer Plant, with its leaves that fold like hands in thankfulness at night, encourages us to connect with others and make the most of life's special moments.
