CALATHEA MEDALLION 6 INCH
The light requirements make this plant an attractive choice for lower light homes. It is a great low light plant and will do best in medium to low light. Direct sunlight will result in bleaching the leaves.
Water the Calathea Medallion enough to keep it moist regularly, but not oversaturated. In the late Spring through August, water more frequently to keep the soil damp, but never waterlogged. In the winter, only water when the topsoil becomes dry to the touch. Be sure to be cautious as water standing in the pot means wet roots, which Calathea does not like. Extended periods of dryness can result in leaves curling and brown leaf tips or edges. Do not allow the pot soil to dry out completely.
They are beautifully marked with various shades of green, wavy edges that magnify those shades, and green spots that resemble small leaves. Even their undersides do not lack in magnificence, being a reddish-purple shade. Grows moderately fast and up to 2ft.
This kind of active plant care can help you access the wellbeing benefits associated with plants, such as lower stress levels, improved mood and superior mental clarity. With their expansive leaves, Calatheas are excellent air-purifiers. We recommend Calatheas as a plant to keep in the bedroom: their peaceful leaves, oxygenating properties and humidifying capabilities will help you drift off at night and feel refreshed in the morning.
The Calathea symbolizes a new beginning. This has come from the famous expression 'to turn over a new leaf', because this is what the plant does when it gets dark. Give a calathea as a gift to someone who is starting afresh.
